Picta Dicta Primer
The Package
Now your student can learn to read, listen, speak, and even compose in Latin! Magistra Seidman has assembled a program using Picta Dicta’s Latin Primer which teaches entry level students to read Latin stories and understand basic Latin grammar through hundreds of illustrated examples, stories, and videos. The package includes yearlong subscriptions and workbooks. Primer 1 will be completed first semester as review (grades 6/7). Primer 2 will begin second semester and will complete all 6 tenses, active and passive voice (grades 7/8). Each is designed to help students improve their vocabulary and pronunciation for the most used in their grade level. The Virtual Classroom Students will meet once a week for Zoom sessions to introduce grammatical concepts, work through exercises, read passages and speak in Latin! Class meeting times will be Thursdays at 3pm or 4pm depending on what works best the group. Students will complete classwork/homework in the Picta Dicta Primer App and in the workbook. Mrs. Seidman will correct workbook pages, conduct quizzes, tests, and assign grades for each student. The Results Students will feel confident in understanding the basic grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation of the Latin language as well as the ability to read short stories. Students will be encouraged and assisted in composing a Latin story in April which will be entered into a SCRIBO contest.
